Soto Babat

Soto is a very popular traditional Javanese food. There are many types of Soto such as Soto Ayam (Chicken Soto), Soto Kerbau (Buffalo Soto), Soto Sapi (Beef Soto) and many more. One of these recipes that i will share now is Soto babat (Tripe Soto), The Soto that made from tripe as a basic materials. Meat tripe that will be used in this time is beef tripe that famously tender and tasty.

The materials to make Soto babat :

  • 600gr beef tripe
  • 16 pcs onion
  • 5 pcs cloves garlic
  • 1 tea spoon ground pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 stalk lemongrass
  • 2 leaves lime kaffir
  • 2 stalks celery

How to Cook Soto babat:

  1. Wash the tripe thoroughly and boiled until tender and cut into pieces.
  2. Puree all ingredients except the bay leaf, lemongrass, lime leaves and celery.
  3. Slice some onion then fried.
  4. Slice some celery.
  5. Enter the seasoning into the tripe broth along with the bay leaves, lemon grass and lime leaves.
  6. Stir until boiling then remove from heat.
  7. Serve Soto Babat with sprinkled fried onion and chopped celery.
